Whatever type of business you run, one thing that you will always, always need to grow your business is customers. And that’s where your email database comes into action.
But the biggest challenge faced by most brand marketers is, they don’t have an email database which is big enough to deliver the full-fledged benefits of email marketing.
Traditional methods of growing an email database are, giving free eBooks, videos, special reports, etc. in exchange for an email address. Though this method still works, but when it comes to growing your list along with targeted leads, it delivers fewer results.
There are plenty of ways through which you can quickly, and organically grow your email list. Some of them are discussed below:
- Run a viral competition:
Holding a viral competition is a terrific way of building your email list and growing your database with qualified leads. In such a competition, you can ask participants for their email address in return for signing up for the competition. You can also give them a referral code for referring other users to enter the competition.
- Add content upgrade on top of your posts:
A content upgrade is a way of getting the email address of your prospects in exchange for an ‘upsell’ piece of content within an article. The key to getting the best results from a content upgrade is to create a piece of content that perfectly aligns with what the original article is about, and offers additional value, that is so good that readers are compelled to enter their email address to receive it.
- Create shareable content:
Create content which adds certain value so that your subscribers feel compelled to share it with their friends. Whether it’s a sale, a helpful newsletter or simply a witty transactional response, great content excites and delights always.
- Leverage social media:
Social media platforms are great for sharing. You are not taking advantage of opportunities offered by social media if you’re not leveraging your social media presence to help grow your email list. Place CTA, promote offers and contest or advertising campaigns geared towards sign-ups, which help in broadening your reach.
- Put together a case study:
Case studies are a wonderful way to not only educate your audience but to also drive them to sign up for your email list. The beauty of writing a case study is that you don’t have to run your own experiments to put one together. You can create a study simply by referencing another study’s data and then reshaping it as your own.
Having consistent messaging on your homepage increases the chances that someone will understand what you’re selling, and then click your offer.
You can undertake all the above if you have a huge team working efficiently to bring in high success. But for a small business, it is recommended to start with one or two of these hacks and seriously committing to them, so that your efforts can get noticed through email database growth.
