If you are working on developing strong branding for your company, you will benefit from reading these tips as well as consulting with a reputable graphic designer or a graphic design company. If they don’t confirm the following, you’ll know they cannot be all that good.
1. Understand your strengths
Keep evaluating the expertise of your staff and use any new skills for exploring new niche areas and making the current ones stronger. The skills you can look for among your staff members are professional expertise, technology friendliness or strong professional relationships with an important client.
2. Increase participation in social media
Make a commitment to use social media like LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter regularly. You can use these forums to invite possible clients for prospective discussions and promote your company’s expertise. In addition, diversify your friend and follower lists by motivating people to like or follow your page.
3. Learn about your competitors
Study your competitors and review their brochures, business cards and websites. Then put yourself in your client’s shoes and think how a prospective or current client will compare your company with your competitors. Why should they choose you? Use whatever you learned through this exercise to brainstorm ways of developing your business and becoming the most preferred choice in your industry.
4. Be responsive
Establish efficient customer service practices, such as prompt answering of the phone lines and shortened time frames for responding to emails. Your customers and business partners who try to contact you have needs and they will develop an opinion about your company based on how timely your responses were.
Think about a restaurant you like to visit frequently. Do you prefer it because of prompt services? Would you still like it if the food took longer to arrive? If service is slow, or slower than what customers expect, they will complain or even change the product or service providers. Good customer service will build a positive reputation for your company.
Be communicative
On an ongoing basis, develop a database of contact and email information for current and potential customers. You can then use this information to send e-newsletters to these customers. The e-newsletters can contain information about new products and services, staff achievements, tax submission details, payroll deadlines, and links to state websites, anything that can be informative or useful for these customers.
Use traditional marketing methods
Although you may be doing more of digital marketing, don’t abandon the traditional promotion methods, like brochures, newsletters and promotional products. Make good use of radio, displays and television for advertising. Although many people are now more accessible online, TV and radio provide options for targeted marketing, as the viewership is based on the program type.
Remain flexible
If your marketing plan last year was very successful, remember that it may not work today. You have to come up with and implement new marketing strategies. Keep yourself flexible and open to new methods of advertising.
