Mobile Marketing

•    56 percent of all U.S. mobile phone owners access the Internet.
•    85 percent of all U.S. adults own a mobile phone.
•    53 percent of mobile phone owners have smart phones.
•    81 percent have searched for products or services on a smartphone.

Video Marketing

2012 was the biggest year in online video marketing to date, and that trend will only continue to grow in 2013.  Online video usage rose 12 percent amongst content marketers in 2012.  Google owns YouTube – Videos rank faster and easier in Google.  YouTube is used to search for solutions.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is not about you, it’s about your clients and prospective clients.  Understand the needs of your clients. Which social networking platforms do your clients primarily use? Understand your clients and why they use social networks.  Establish connections with your clients. If they reach out through Twitter, respond through Twitter.  Educate, Entertain and Engage – do not sell or promote.

Local Search

It’s getting tougher to get that first page rank on search engines and a key factor in that is that search engines are now using location to determine what results to provide. We will see local search marketing rise due to the increase in mobile usage. More consumers will find valid results in Google Local.  Go to maps.google.com  and search your business – claim it or set it up, get clients to submit reviews.

QR Codes

QR codes, (Quick Response codes) look similar to a bar code. In fact, it is a form of bar code that can be scanned from a QR reader installed on a mobile phone.  QR Codes can link to digital content on the web; or activate a number of phone functions including email, IM and SMS; and connect the mobile device to a web browser, open a video, opt-in to a newsletter, provide your contact info and much more.  You can generate a QR Code for free here: qrstuff.com
